The Church & Village News is published every month between February and December. It covers the villages of Baconsthorpe, Barningham Winter, Edgefield, Hempstead, Matlaske, Plumstead and Saxthorpe with Corpusty and is distributed to all the houses and churches in these parishes.

Village Amenities
Baconsthorpe Parish Council manages and maintains various amenities in the village. If you would like information about any of these please contact the Parish Clerk or Chair.
There are several allotments situated on Castle Road. There are often allotments available for a small annual rent. Please contact the Parish Clerk to apply.
The playground is situated opposite the village hall on School Lane. It is open all day every day and has a good range of play equipement suitable for most ages.
Situated in the car park next to the playground are recycling bins for paper, glass and clothes. All proceeds from these go back into parish funds.
There is a dog waste bin on Long Lane. Please do pick-up after your dogs where-ever you may be in the village. Thank you!
The village notice board is situated next to the bus shelter on Long Lane next to the post box.
Bus Times
Every Tuesday Sanders run the number 16 bus to Holt. The journey takes 10 minutes.
Departing Baconsthorpe 10.38am – please wait on the car park at the bottom of Long Lane by the Old Post Office.

Village Walks
As part of the lottery grant given to the church for the repair of the roof, two walks have been developed to encourage people to walk from the church to the castle.
